Johnson Lane nestled in Carson Valley is a town just south of Carson City and Indian Hills even though it's not its own incorporated city. It's located east of Highway 395 and north of the airport. This small community is part of the Carson City Metro area located in Douglas County and is home to about 6500 residents. The boundary stretched quite extensively totaling 21 mi.² and nearly all of it is land.

Johnson Lane is popular for its off-road area, a popular recreation site ideal for offloading, biking, hiking, and Motorcross. Most of the roads around the town are dirt coupled with some residential neighborhoods and light commercial properties. Hot Springs Mountain is also a popular hotspot ideal for hiking and exploring. If you have a vehicle that is well-versed in offloading, you can pretty much a drive right up the mountain, but most people hike or take mountain bikes.

In the center of this Community Is Johnson Ln., Park, across the street from the Pinon Hills elementary school, the only school within Johnson Lane. Other schools assigned to Johnson Lane is the Carson Valley middle school and the Douglas County high school, all part of the Douglas school district. However, the Pinon Hills elementary school receives a 9 out of 10 and is rated one of the best schools in the entire area.

Most people in Johnson Lane own their own homes and there are very few rentals available. Nearly 95% of residents own their own homes with the median home value between $220,000 and $600,000. Of course, all that can change but the reason this small community has such a higher price point on the average home price is due to the fact that most properties offer acreage or larger lots. You'll find homesites with 1-acre plus, larger homes, and smaller properties as well.

Johnson Lane has one of the lowest crime rates of any community or unincorporated town. Crime is basically no and void. You'll find many retirees and those that work locally such as those that work at the Starbucks roasting plant located in Johnson Lane.
