Al Seeliger is a neighborhood and Carson City Nevada surrounding the Al Seeliger elementary school. This popular neighborhood in downtown sits between S. Carson St. and Frontage Road and Interstate 580. It's bordered by Fairway Drive to the north and Koontz Lane to the south making up the entire section between the interstate and the highway.
In the center is Sonoma Park, a small green space with a playground. While the entire neighborhood is primarily residential, there are some amenities along Frontage Road and south along Koontz Ln. but in the center is the elementary school, which is why a lot of folks choose to live in this area.
This location is also ideal because it's in town yet just a few blocks from the Lincoln Highway, which is home to Coles, Ross, grocery stores, markets, gas stations, and other amenities and services. You'll find restaurants such as Applebee's, Olive Garden, Bamboo Garden, and Chick-fil-A along this major thoroughfare.
This elementary school is rated above average with excellent teachers, diversity, and academics. It's one of the top 50 schools in Nevada and the median home value is about $300,000.
"I transferred to Al Seeliger Elementary School in second grade in hopes of finding a classroom I felt comfortable in. I landed in the hands of Ms. Antila, who I believe worked many more years at Seeliger after my generation moved along. She and her students welcomed me with open arms and made my first day as comfortable as possible. I can remember her class quite vividly. She made reading and spelling exceptionally fun for a second grader. I came home happy after a day at school once I made the transfer. I continued attending Seeliger through fifth grade. I participated in many of the family nights and was invovled in their latch key programs. I've made life-long friends and relationships from that school." - Niche Review of Al Seeliger Elementary School
